BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Even though the skies may be cloudy and rain is in the forecast, local officials are urging the public to continue to adhere to burn bans in the area.
The Whatcom County Fire Marshal is reminding folks of burn bans that are still in effect in parts of Whatcom County.
A stage 2 burn ban will remain in place for unincorporated Whatcom County until further notice. During a stage 2 burn ban, only propane, charcoal, pellet smokers, grills and fire pits can be used.
The Fire Marshal also says that in order for the ban to be lifted, our region needs to see significant rainfall over a multi-day period.
Rainy conditions are expected to clear by Thursday evening, with temperatures forecasted to reach the low 80s early next week.
