SKAGIT COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Salmon fishing season in Skagit County is coming to a temporary close.
The state Department of Fish and Wildlife says recreational salmon fishing will end at the Skagit and Cascade River fisheries starting on Wednesday, Nov. 19.
The closure is in effect from the mouth of the Skagit River to Marblemount Bridge and the mouth of the Cascade River to Rockport-Cascade Road Bridge.
Fish and Wildlife says catch estimates for coho salmon are nearing their limit.
The closure will last through Jan. 31, 2026.
Fishing for game fish remains open under annual rules.
