WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Recovery efforts are underway in Whatcom County following the historic flooding we saw last week.

The county is urging anyone whose home or business was damaged by the flood to fill out an assessment form so they can qualify for state or federal funds.

Residents who are clearing out flood debris can drop it off at one of three sites: one on Swanson Road near Sumas and two more in Ferndale. Click here for more information from Whatcom County on debris management sites.

Anyone who’s been displaced by the flooding can call the county’s flood call center at 360-788-5303 or visit the county’s website to fill out an emergency sheltering needs form.

Local businesses in need of support should connect with Western Washington University’s Small Business Development Center.

Meanwhile, both the Whatcom and Skagit Community Foundations have activated their Resilience Funds to support residents affected by the flooding.

Anyone who’s interested in lending a hand can volunteer with the Whatcom Long-Term Recovery Group.
