WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Some minor flooding could be coming to Whatcom County this week, but the worst is likely behind us.
The National Weather Service in Seattle has issued a flood watch through Thursday afternoon as a second atmospheric river makes its way through the region.
The Nooksack River at Ferndale is currently forecast to reach the action stage around 10:00 p.m. on Monday night.
It’s expected to crest late Wednesday night, when it will near the minor flooding stage.
The Nooksack at North Cedarville is currently forecast to peak above the action stage around 10:00 p.m. on Monday night.
It will dip back down on Tuesday morning before reaching a second crest above the action stage on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, a wind advisory remains in effect through 10:00 p.m. tonight before a second one goes into effect starting at 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
