Skagit Valley residents and KISM listeners showed up in droves to donate to the cause showing once again the generosity and care local communities have for each other.
The Mt. Vernon Police Department “Pack a Patrol Car” event started during COVID-19 when the spouses of police officers started buying toys to donate to the children of Skagit county in an effort to reconnect the community with the police department. The event has since grown to an annual toy drive that helps more than 1,000 Skagit county kids celebrate Christmas.
Organizers of the event teamed up with Brigid Collins Family Support Center, Children of the Valley and Triumph Teen Center to help distribute contributions.
