BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A Lynden man is in custody after allegedly forcing a child to inhale narcotics.
Bellingham Police Lt. Claudia Murphy says that the incident occurred at the WTA Bus Station on Cordata Parkway earlier this month.
The victim was approached by the suspect, identified as 33-year-old Jamin Ewing, and the two engaged in conversation for a few minutes.
Ewing convinced the minor to continue their discussion behind a nearby building.
The victim told investigators that Ewing stepped away to smoke something, grabbed them by the hair, and forced the smoke into their mouth.
Following his arrest late last week, officers learned that Ewing had smoked methamphetamine and was trying to “pass smoke” to the teen.
Separate charges were also filed against Ewing in relation to a 2024 indecent exposure incident.
