FERNDALE, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The City of Ferndale and Ferndale Chamber of Commerce are celebrating National Public Works Week with a fun, family-friendly event.
Public Works Rocks is a city-wide rock hunt taking place from Monday, May 18 to Friday, May 22 in the city’s parks, trails, sidewalks and more.

Crews have hidden rocks with the City’s logo around town. Participants who find them are urged to post a photo on Facebook with a comment explaining why they appreciate the hard work of Public Works employees. Tag the City of Ferndale and the Chamber in the post for a chance to win a prize.
So, if you appreciate the work crews do to keep the water and sewer flowing, to keep the lights on, to keep the roads clean, and to protect the city during flooding events, get out there and find some rocks.
National Public Works Week is an annual event that raises awareness about how public works departments keep cities and towns across the country functioning and safe.
