Mariners News
The Mariners are looking to extend their win streak tonight on the heels of yet another walk off win.
Cole Young hit a walk off single in the 10th inning of last night’s game to lift the M’s over the New York Mets 3-2 for their seventh straight win and second straight extra-innings walkoff.
Colt Emerson and Josh Naylor each hit solo homers to highlight a slow offensive showing for the Mariners’ lineup, which only managed four hits.
Naylor left the game with back spasms after his long shot and his status is currently day-to-day.
Emerson Hancock gave up two runs and struck out seven over six innings to notch his team-leading eighth quality start of the season before the bullpen tossed four perfect innings.
The Mariners will look to make it eighth straight tonight in Game 2 against the Mets with Logan Gilbert on the mound.
Coverage begins at 5:30 and first pitch is at 6:40 on KPUG.
Bells News
It’s going to be a party at Joe Martin Field tonight for the Bells’ home opener.
The team is celebrating last year’s West Coast League championship ahead of their series opener against the Wenatchee AppleSox.
The Bells’ 2025 title was their first in ten years.
They’re now returning several key contributors from last season, including first baseman Noah Cassie and All-Star pitchers Preston Watkins and Cal Young.
But they also have many new faces, including first-year head coach Alan Regier, who’s taking over for last year’s skipper Ed Knaggs.
The team is off to a solid start this season, having won two out of three games in Kelowna over the weekend.
Their 2-1 record is currently the best in the North Division.
First pitch for tonight’s home opener is at 6:35 and the first 300 fans will receive opening day pins.
Seahawks News
The Seahawks have locked down another one of their young standouts to a long-term deal.
ESPN reports the team has agreed with outside linebacker Derick Hall on a three-year, $42 million extension.
The deal includes $21 million guaranteed and could be worth up to $46.5 million.
Seattle drafted Hall in the second round of the 2023 draft and he broke out with eight sacks in 2024.
The 25-year-old edge rusher is now tied to the team through the 2029 season.
It comes after the Seahawks made Jaxon Smith-Njigba the NFL’s highest-paid wide receiver in March and are continuing to work on an extension with Pro Bowl cornerback Devon Witherspoon.
Storm News
The Storm’s early-season woes continued last night.
They fell to the Dallas Wings 79-56 for their third straight loss.
Rookie guard Flau’jae Johnson led Seattle with 16 points and 10 rebounds, but the team got outscored in every period of the game to drop to 3-7 on the season.
The WNBA’s last two No. 1 picks and former UConn teammates Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd combined for 19 points in the win for Dallas.
The Storm will look to rebound tomorrow night when they return home to host the league-worst Phoenix Mercury.
