SEDRO-WOOLLEY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A young woman was killed following a hit-and-run crash in Skagit County.
Sedro-Woolley Police said that 19-year-old Anahi Rose Mendoza was hit by a car on Hwy 20 near Township Street the afternoon of Saturday, July 4.
Mendoza was treated at the scene, but later died from her injuries.
The suspect vehicle sped off, but witnesses were able to locate both the car and suspect roughly a block away from where the crash occurred.
Jail records have identified the suspect as a 58-year-old male, who now faces DUI and vehicular homicide charges.
Sedro-Woolley Police added that he has an extensive criminal record, including 17 felony convictions in Washington and other charges in many other states.
