SKAGIT COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Permanent speed limit changes are being implemented on a stretch of the North Cascades Hwy.

WSDOT says that a one-mile stretch of Highway 20 through the town of Lyman will make the switch to 50 mph once new signs are installed this week.

Town officials say that residential feedback prompted them to work with WSDOT in reducing the limit from the previous 55 mph.

The new limit will take effect as soon as the signs go up.
