FERNDALE, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Drivers should expect delays in downtown Ferndale on Friday, Sept. 18.

The city says the eastbound lane of Main Street will be closed between Sterling Avenue and 4th Avenue from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Two lanes of Main Street will remain open at all times while traffic is lane shifted.

Pedestrians and bicyclists will detour through the post office parking lot. Drivers are being asked to use 4th Avenue to access the Post Office or 7-Eleven.

The closure is in place for utility work related to the city’s Civic Campus project. Once complete, the 19,000 square-foot facility will house the city council chambers, municipal court and administrative offices.
