POINT ROBERTS, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Community members in Point Roberts have a chance to give their feedback to local elected officials.
Several members of the Whatcom County Council will be in Point Roberts for a Q&A on Monday, Sept. 21.
Councilmembers Barry Buchanan, Ben Elenbaas and Jon Scanlon are all part of the latest Community Conversations meeting.
They’ll be available to answer questions along with members of the Point Roberts Community Advisory Committee.
It comes after U.S. Representative Rick Larsen introduced the EXCLAVE Act this summer in an effort to increase communication between federal government agencies and exclaves like Point Roberts.
Larsen says it came in response to federal rules that have impacted cross-border travel without input from those exclave communities.
Monday’s meeting takes place from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Point Roberts Community Center.
