BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A person was hospitalized and a Seattle man is in custody after a stabbing in downtown Bellingham over the weekend.
Bellingham Police Lt. Claudia Murphy says officers were called to a report of a stabbing on E Holly Street just before 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10.
They arrived to find someone who appeared to have been stabbed in the arm and legs.
Both stab wounds required emergency care at PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center in Bellingham.
The victim told police that he was stabbed by a stranger he had met just 10 minutes before the alleged attack.
Officers used the victim’s description and surveillance footage to locate the suspected attacker roughly an hour and a half later on N Forest Street.
The 30-year-old man, whose last known residence is in Seattle, was arrested and remains at the Whatcom County Jail without bail.
