BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Members of the community gathered on Wednesday, January 4th, to recognize the renaming of Whatcom County’s Crisis Stabilization Center.
Its new name, the Anne Deacon Center for Hope, commemorates Deacon’s work towards mental health care in the community as the Human Services Manager for the Whatcom County Health Department.
Deacon played a key role in working with the community and state to design, fund and open the center, before recently retiring.
The center on Division Street provides a 32-bed treatment unit for mental health and detox stabilization.
