BELLINGHAM, WA – (KGMI.com) The Washington state legislature is seeking public comment on the draft of the 2024 Highway System Plan.
According to WSDOT, the new draft will provide recommendations for maintaining, preserving, improving and operating state highways for the next 20 years.
One of the recommendations in the draft is increasing safety on highways resulting in fewer crashes.
Other recommendations include environmental action from removing fish passage barriers to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
The draft is also pushing for more non-vehicle transportation opportunities and to provide more travel options for commuters.
A virtual meeting will be held for the public on November 30th from 2 to 3 p.m. and the link can be found on the Highway System Plan website.
The draft is available for public review and comment through December 18th.
