BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A months-long investigation led to a major drug bust in Whatcom County by local, state and federal authorities on Thursday, July 20th.

Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Deb Slater says the Whatcom Gang and Drug Task Force assisted the DEA Bellingham in serving six federal search warrants at properties in Bellingham and the county.

Investigators seized approximately 30,000 fentanyl pills, 300 grams of fentanyl powder, and a kilogram of cocaine.

Five subjects were arrested on local warrants.

The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office, Homeland Security, Border Patrol and Washington State Patrol assisted in the operation.
