BELLINGHAM, Wash.- Bellingham Police have arrested a man in connection with a recent bank robbery.

The robbery occurred Thursday afternoon at the Industrial Credit Union on State St.

The suspect, wearing a distinct plaid shirt, implied he had a weapon before leaving the bank with an unknown amount of cash.

Officers located the suspect 12 hours later at a mini mart on the Guide Meridian- still wearing the same plaid shirt.

The suspect, 30-year-old Ernesto Sosa, still had a large amount of the stolen cash on him when he was arrested.

A search warrant later uncovered more cash in Sosa’s tent.

At the time of his arrest, Sosa had an active warrant for escaping community custody.
