JERUSALEM, Israel – A church group from Bellingham is in Israel as terrorism and war grips that nation.
Pastor Grant Fishbook with Christ the King Church in Bellingham is leading a group of 57 people on a visit to the Holy Land.
He says they were visiting Jerusalem’s Old City on Saturday when air raid sirens sounded.
“We did see some missile trails which went over top of us, but the Iron Dome protected the city, which did exactly what it was designed to do,” said Fishbook. “We are removed from most of the violence which is, of course, happened in the south in Gaza. So, the city itself, Jerusalem, is definitely on alert.”
He says the group is safe and they are praying for everyone affected by this outbreak of violence.
Their planned flight home on Wednesday, October 11th, has been cancelled but they are working on alternative travel arrangements.
