BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A Bellingham man was arrested after allegedly sending explicit messages to minors.

BPD Lt. Claudia Murphy said investigators in Mississippi began investigating the suspect in April 2022.

The parents of a 15-year-old girl went to police after they found adult men were sending explicit images and texts to her.

Some of those messages were traced back to the suspect’s Bellingham address.

Search warrants were granted for the suspect’s home in October.

Analysis of his electronic devices confirmed that not only did he send explicit messages to the child, but to several other minors as well.

The suspect, 44-year-old Daniel Koval, even admitted in some of the messages that he knew his victims were underage.

Koval turned himself in to Bellingham Police on Monday, April 17th, but has since bonded out of jail.
