BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A Bellingham man remains in custody after allegedly stalking and threatening a witness in a court case.

Bellingham Police Lt Claudia Murphy said that the victim reported someone had broken into her apartment on Sunday, March 5th.

She told investigators that her keys did not work on her front door and her cat had gone missing.

Throughout the morning on Monday, March 6th, the victim said that a man attempted to contact her several times at her home.

The man was heard on video threatening to harm the victim’s cat if she did not speak to him.

She was able to identify the man as 27-year-old Andre Haas, who was arrested on Monday.

Bellingham Police later confirmed that the victim was a witness in an investigation involving Haas.

Officers searching Haas’ apartment found fentanyl and methamphetamine, over $9300 in cash, drug paraphernalia, and a handgun.

Haas faces a slew of charges, including witness intimidation, drug charges, stalking, and unlawful firearms possession.
