SNOHOMISH, Wash. – A Bellingham man faces multiple charges for leading Snohomish County Sheriff’s deputies on a wild chase.

The department says in a social media post that deputies responded late Saturday night, January 21st, to a report of a person driving through a neighbor’s backyard in the town of Snohomish.

They found a person driving a pick-up truck erratically, then through a muddy field and several other yards and ditches.

At one point he completed a circle around a house to make a u-turn as he eluded officers.

He eventually got out of the truck and ran into a nearby home.

The resident got him out of the house and he led officers on a foot chase before they subdued him.

They jailed 45-year-old John M. Ashton for DUI, eluding, resisting arrest, residential burglary, driving with a suspended license, and violation of an ignition interlock device order.
