BELLINGHAM, WA (KGMI.com) – Bellingham Technical College is a vote away from beginning crucial repairs on one of their buildings.

The state Board for Community and Technical Colleges will be holding a public meeting Thursday, with over $22 million on the line for emergency repairs at BTC.

Engineers discovered structural issues with BTC’s Campus Center building in July, forcing its closure for the 2023-24 academic year.

Services within the Campus Center, including the library and food pantry, were moved to other buildings.

The Board says that BTC’s project will be at the top of their priority list when they submit their budget request to the State Legislature.

Thursday’s meeting will be held on Zoom and streamed on TVW.
