BLAINE, Wash. – A Blaine woman running for local office is facing several charges after being accused of sexually abusing minors.
Whatcom County Sheriff’s spokesperson Deb Slater said that Child Protective Services alerted them to a potential abuse investigation on May 19th.
Investigators say an unknown number of minors reported being sexually and physically abused by 51-year-old Tana Perkins Reneau.
She also faces a controlled substance charge after deputies found pills while searching her prior to her arrest.
According to the Whatcom County Auditor’s Office, Reneau has filed to run for a directoral position with the Blaine School District in this year’s primaries.
Reneau remains at the Whatcom County Jail without bail.
