Part of Lake Padden Park was closed Monday evening while police investigated a shooting.

Bellingham Police Lt. Claudia Murphy says Crime Scene Investigators and Detectives were actively investigating the scene in Lake Padden Park East and that area of the park was closed until dusk.

There aren’t many other details available at this time.

BPD says the park will be open today on a regular schedule.

Lake Padden East is accessed via Lakeshore Drive and contains the dog park area, a playground, and basketball courts.
