BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The Bellingham Police Department has issued a Community Alert about a regional burglary group targeting residents in Bellingham.

BPD Detectives say the group has especially victimized business owners of South Asian descent.

The burglars target safes in homes near green belts and trail systems and have taken jewelry and cash.

The burglaries generally occur between 6 and 9 pm.

Residents are urged to secure valuable items, keep interior and exterior lights on, and call 911 to report any suspicious people or vehicles.
