BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The current warm weather conditions means burn restrictions for parts of Whatcom County.
Starting Friday, June 9th, at 8 a.m., most outdoor burning will be banned for rural parts of the county.
Small, contained recreational bonfires fueled by seasoned firewood or charcoal will still be allowed.
The National Weather Service in Seattle says that the state will be seeing a prolonged period of above-normal temperatures in the coming weeks.
Lower-than-average rainfall is also expected as summer kicks off later this month.
