BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Charges have been refiled against a Whatcom County man accused of killing his father over a decade ago.
Whatcom County Sheriff’s spokesperson Deb Slater said the man, Per Johansson, was transferred from Western State Hospital on Wednesday, April 19th.
Johansson is accused of murdering his father, Raymond Johansson, and injuring his mother and niece in 2010.
He was ordered to seek treatment at Western State Hospital following his arrest.
Johansson’s competency to stand trial had been cleared by medical professionals several times between 2011 and 2014.
However, his behavior would deteriorate each time he was brought back to the Whatcom County Jail.
The murder and assault charges were refiled against him on March 31st of this year.
