BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Bellingham’s 5th Annual Climate Action Week will kick off this Friday, September 22nd.

The week is packed with over 20 educational events including guided tours, film screenings, and presentations on local environmental topics like salmon, orcas, and plant life.

The WTA has partnered with the Whatcom Million Trees Project to plant one tree for every 100 bus rides during the week, with a goal to plant 1,000 new trees.

The week will culminate with a closing ceremony Saturday, September 30th at the Downtown Waterfront with live music and circus performances, electric vehicle demos, games, prizes and more.

This year’s theme is “Leading with Collaborative Solutions”, and many local environmental groups will be present at the closing ceremony for networking opportunities.
