BELLINGHAM, WA – “Things go better with Coke,” except a Washington State Ferry according to many passengers and others.

The Seattle Times reports that ferry service executives and even on-board workers have been slammed with complaints over a Coca-Cola ad emblazoned across the front of the ferry Tacoma.

Even Governor Jay Inslee’s office chimed in about the bright red wrap many say is a desecration of the iconic green and white ferries.

The decision to allow some exterior advertising on the vessels was made before the pandemic, and this is the first for-profit wrap the service has accepted.

The contract with Coke ends in mid-November and the ferry service says it will take some time to re-evaluate the policy of exterior ads on its boats.
