BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A diverse group of local community members have been working on a plan to strengthen our local food system, and you have a chance to comment.

The Whatcom County Food System Committee will hold an open house February 13th to discuss and receive citizen feedback on the plan.

It focuses on all aspects of local food production and distribution including farming, soil health, water conservation, the food system workforce and much more.

Once the plan is finalized the committee will present it to the Whatcom County Council for approval and implementation.

The open house will be Monday, February 13th, 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Pioneer Pavilion in Ferndale.
