BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The CDC and other health agencies have sounded the alarm on mental health issues in children and teens during and after the pandemic.

A Whatcom County behavioral health group is looking to change that with free mental health programs for students this summer.

Compass Health said that their weekly, 90-minute sessions will run from June 27th through August 14th.

All sessions will be held at school-based locations, and anyone with a child currently enrolled through Compass Health is eligible to attend.

Parents of students who are not enrolled can request a referral through their child’s school.

Program topics range from anger management and self-care to coping with social anxiety and building interpersonal relationships.

Free evening webinars will also be available this summer for parents of those participating in the program.
