BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Whatcom County Executive Satpal Sidhu has officially named October as Down Syndrome Awareness Month.

Sidhu is encouraging all citizens to work together to promote awareness of the condition that appears in one of every 700 births.

The proclamation also promoted Buddy Fest of Whatcom County, an event which took place on Saturday, September 23rd, that celebrated the achievements of people with Down syndrome.
