BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Fire crews are tackling a wildfire on Galbraith Mountain in Bellingham.

The fire was reported around 7 a.m. Tuesday morning, July 18th, and has burned about three acres so far, according to DNR spokesperson Janet Pearce.

South Whatcom Fire confirmed that the fire started on the Arts Trail near Pipeline Rd.

State DNR crews are also on scene battling the blaze.

Whatcom County officials are asking people not to call 911, as crews are on scene and fighting the flames.

And fire officials are asking people to stay away from that part of the mountain for the rest of the day.
