NEWHALEM, Wash. – A wildfire in the North Cascades has grown over the weekend.

Fire officials say that the Sourdough Fire, located near Diablo Lake, was first reported on Saturday morning, July 29th.

Low humidity, windy conditions, and warm temperatures caused the fire to burn 15 acres as of Sunday night.

Firefighting operations were suspended for 45 minutes after an unauthorized drone was seen flying around the wildfire area.

Several trails and campsites are closed and access across Diablo Dam is limited to certain groups.
