BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Dewey Griffin Subaru wants to help some disadvantaged kids get behind the wheel.

The Bellingham dealership is donating $2,000 to Blue Skies for Children to fund five scholarships for driver education classes.

The donation to the non-profit will double the number of scholarships it can offer to low-income, homeless and foster kids.

The application process is competitive with Blue Skies reviewing essays and letters of recommendation.
