BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Whatcom County is receiving over $1.5 million in funding for public housing.

Senator Patty Murray announced the funding is part of the $33 million in federal grants from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development as part of their Capital Fund Program.

The Housing Authority of Bellingham will receive $1.3 million, and the Housing Authority of Whatcom County will get $265,000.

Both agencies work to provide affordable housing to low-income families, the elderly and those with disabilities.
