FERNDALE, Wash. – A Ferndale man is in custody after leading police on a wild foot chase.
The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office says they responded to an in-progress domestic dispute on Grandview Place on Monday night, March 13th.
Deputies contacted the victim who reported that she and 44-year-old Austin Wagner were involved in an argument that turned physical.
Wagner allegedly grabbed the victim by the throat and shoved her down the stairs.
Deputies responded but Wagner fled multiple times, threatened a K-9, and threw a floor-scraping tool at them.
He was eventually subdued with pepper spray and taken into custody.
Wagner was booked into Whatcom County Jail on charges of 2nd Degree Assault, Felony Harassment, and Resisting Arrest.
