FERNDALE, WA – Ferndale Police are searching for a suspect in an armed robbery at Haggen Grocery.

Police Chief Kevin Turner says officers were dispatched to an armed robbery at Haggen around 8:25 this (Tuesday) morning.

Employees said they confronted a man after he appeared to steal alcohol and tools when he flashed a knife before fleeing.

Officers were able to find some of the stolen items over the next two hours but could not locate the suspect.

He’s described as a Hispanic or Native American male, approximately 5’8″ tall with several tattoos on his arm.

He was wearing a camoflage/black shirt, black pants, black sneakers and carried a backpack during the robbery.

Ferndale Police don’t belive him to be an imminent threat to the public at this time.
