BELLINGHAM, WA – (KGMI.com) A former Bellingham Police detective has pleaded not guilty to several charges after an external criminal investigation.
Adam “Bo” McGinty was arraigned in Skagit County Superior Court Friday on charges of theft, official misconduct and falsification of accounts by a public officer.
McGinty was the detective in charge of the recently settled Bellingham school administrator scandal before his termination in August.
He is alleged to have used another detective’s name to get dry-cleaning services that were city-paid expenses he was not entitled to.
The external investigation was handled by the Mount Vernon Police Department due to potential conflicts of interest.
His trial is set to begin on March 18, 2024.
