BELLINGHAM, Wash. – More details have been released following the arrest of a former Whatcom County Sheriff’s Deputy trainee.

23-year-old Austin Case of Ferndale faces six total felony charges, including rape, burglary, and extortion.

Court documents state that an investigation began in late June after two women anonymously came forward about their experiences with Case.

Both women had met Case through social media apps.

Investigators say that one of the women disclosed to Case that she was on probation for DUI.

Case is accused of tracking the woman’s location to a bar, and threatening to arrest her for violating her probation unless she had sex with him.

The other woman told investigators that Case forced himself into her home after the two went out for dinner.

He physically trapped her and displayed a gun after asking her if she was scared.

Case was fired from the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office on July 12th and arrested the same day.

His arraignment is scheduled for Friday, July 21st.
