BELLINGHAM, WA. – (KGMI.com) Whatcom County is among the beneficiaries of federal funding that aims to prevent domestic violence.
The U.S. Department of Justice has awarded more than $3.6 million in grants to Washington, including $750,000 that will go to the state Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
Those funds will support a victims’ services project in rural parts of the state, including Whatcom and Skagit counties.
The project works to extend culturally appropriate services towards farmworkers and Latinx or Indigenous survivors through advocacy and support groups.
