BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Over 80 healthcare workers at PeaceHealth filed a form to unionize on Friday, July 14th.

A press release from the Union of American Physicians and Dentists said the action comes after three years of voicing concerns regarding PeaceHealth’s quality of care.

The UAPD president says PeaceHealth pressured the medical providers to spend less time with patients due to poor management.

The petition they filed will set off an election within 45 days to determine if the providers can form a collective bargaining unit under the UAPD.

PeaceHealth operates over 25 clinics in Bellingham and has hospitals and medical centers across Washington, Oregon and Alaska.
