FERNDALE, Wash. – If you have ever dreamed of soaring in a balloon high above Whatcom County, an opportunity is coming during a two-day festival in Ferndale.
The Kongregation Hot Air Balloon Festival will have pilots and enthusiasts from across the Pacific Northwest gathering to fly over two dozen balloons up to 5,000 feet.
The fest kicks off Friday, July 28th where five to ten glowing balloons will ignite at sunset in Pioneer Park for up close views.
Those balloons will not take flight.
The high-flying fun starts on Saturday morning, July 29th, with a sunrise launch of dozens of balloons at a secret location on private property.
This is an unofficial, unsponsored event, and tickets to ride in a balloon will be extremely limited and priced at $575 per person.
