BELLINGHAM, WA – (KGMI.com) Newly elected and re-elected local officials will be sworn into office next week.
The Whatcom County Council is hosting an oath of office ceremony in a special meeting this Monday afternoon at 12:15.
Several officials will be present to take the oath, including new Whatcom Sheriff Donnell Tanksley.
The Bellingham City Council is holding a ceremony to begin its regular meeting later that night.
Mayor Kim Lund and City Councilmember Jace Cotton will be sworn in for the first time at their new positions.
City Councilmembers Lisa Anderson, Dan Hammill and Hannah Stone are all returning to their positions after re-election.
The ceremony begins at 7 p.m. in the City Council Chambers and is open for the public.
