LUMMI NATION, Wash. – A new treatment center is officially open on the Lummi Nation.
Tribal members and Bellingham residents opened the New Life Center with a blessing ceremony and ribbon cutting on Thursday, April 27th.
The New Life Center, located on Kwina Road near the nation’s other medical facilities, will specifically focus on withdrawal and stabilization from fentanyl.
All seven beds at the center will be under 24-hour supervision, seven days a week.
FOX 13 reports that New Life Center officials are already planning on expanding their services for up to 16 people at a time in a bigger facility.
Details on the $27.5 million proposed project have not been released.
