BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A man was arrested in Skagit County after witnesses said he brandished a rifle near the Bellis Fair Mall.

Bellingham Police say that witnesses reported that the man brandished the rifle in several locations, including on Bellis Fair Parkway near Target on Monday, January 2nd.

The suspect, 50-year-old Shane Staley, eluded a traffic stop and Bellingham Police did not pursue his vehicle as he sped south on I-5.

Officers in Skagit County later located and arrested him.

Staley faces numerous felony charges.

We reported earlier that the weapon was brandished inside the mall, but Bellingham Police confirm that did not happen.
