BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A man was arrested earlier this week after harassing people with a knife in downtown Bellingham.

Bellingham Police said that a group of people were being harassed by the suspect on Railroad Avenue on Monday night, July 3rd.

Witnesses said that the suspect, 40-year-old Joshua Emley, was banging the knife against a light pole and yelling at them.

When he approached the group with the knife, they ran off, fearing for their safety.

Emley was eventually subdued by officers after refusing to drop the knife and attempting to leave the area.

Emley remains at the Whatcom County Jail on $6,400 cash bail.
