BELLINGHAM, WA – (KGMI.com) An unidentified man died after catching fire in downtown Bellingham earlier this week.
Bellingham Police Public Information Officer Megan Peters says officers were called to a report of someone on fire on Cornwall Avenue early Sunday morning.
The man was no longer on fire by the time police arrived, but was injured and transported to the hospital where he later died.
The man was seen earlier that morning by someone that said he had been next to a small fire.
No one witnessed the incident, but the fire is believed to have been accidental.
