MAPLE FALLS, WA. – A Maple Falls man is in custody after allegedly assaulting a child, a dog, and another adult.
Whatcom County Sheriff’s spokesperson Deb Slater said that deputies were called to the home Sunday night, October 1st, following the attacks.
The victim told investigators that her roommate had thrown an electric heater at her while she was sleeping.
He then threw the heater at a two-year-old child, but the victim was able to get in the way and was hit on the side of the head.
The suspect then attempted to strangle a dog inside the home, but was stopped again by the victim.
Before deputies arrived, the suspect also threw a flashlight through a window of the home, which also injured the adult victim.
The suspect, 28-year-old Talon Penix, now faces assault, attempted child assault, and animal cruelty charges.
