BELLINGHAM, WA. – Wetter weather has brought the end of more burn bans in Whatcom County.

The county Fire Marshal’s Office announced that outdoor burning is allowed as of Wednesday afternoon, September 27th.

Residents on Lummi Island, Point Roberts, or Sandy Point are urged to contact their respective fire districts before burning anything outdoors.

Caution is still being urged for any type of burning, whether it is land clearing or recreational.

Whatcom County remains under a drought emergency declaration, and lands are still recovering from a lack of rain earlier this year.

People looking to burn yard waste or outdoor debris will need to be approved through the Outdoor Burning Information Line at (360) 778-5903.
